What is the Critical Incident Response Service?
A critical
incident is any incident or event that is threatening, causes
significant physical harm or is emotionally overwhelming in the
workplace. Examples of critical incidents include assaults,
robberies, threats, fires and the witnessing of significant or
fatal injury.
The critical
incident response service is a rapid response service for this
type of incident aimed at supporting and assisting employees who
have been exposed to a critical incident in coping with then
normal, however often unpleasant, distress associated with these
types of incidents.
What is Axis Injury Management’s approach to Critical Incident Response?
As per current
evidence based best practice, Axis Injury Management’s approach
to responding post-incident is to provide “Psychological First
Aid” to employee. This consists of education and support to
Employees, as well as the identification of Employees who may be
having difficulties coming to terms with the incident and their
subsequent reactions, and who may require additional assistance
in the form of one-on-one psychological counselling.
